In Which I Am Awesome
Today I exercised HARD. And now I want to puke.
But, I realized as I got out of the shower today that I used to be completely out of breath just taking a shower.
And now, I can walk FAST and HARD on a treadmill for 20 minutes.
Amazing the change one year and thirty pounds can make.
I also got my period today, which is something morbidly obese don’t get very often. I know it’s because of the exercise and weight loss. Maybe, just maybe, my body is ticking correctly at last.
I also bought a blender and made the most delicious smoothie for breakfast this morning.I see this blender as an investment in success. As I posted before, I was getting bored with my diet. I love fruit, and now I can make all kinds of refreshing fruity veggie drinks just in time for summer!
I was craving something not on my diet the other day and bought it, but after a handful of it, I didn’t want it anymore. I was satisfied. Amazing. Miraculous.
I pray a lot. I believe the grace of God helps me make good food choices. He helps me get on the treadmill when I don’t want to. I am in a 12-step program and I have an accountability partner (sponsor) and checking in with her after I exercise has also been a tremendous boost.
I had to admit I was powerless over food and my feelings. I have packed on pounds to avoid issues in my life. It was a sort of running away from people and keeping them at a distance. It’s more complicated than that, of course, but that’s something I’m beginning to realize.
I still have a very long way to go toward my recovery, but I’m getting there, one baby step at a time.
I have over 100 more pounds to lose, but these small changes, have made a huge difference in my life. I actually ENJOYED exercising today.
Who ever dreamed that would happen?
Now. Hand me a barf bag.
Am I the only one that is nauseous after they exercise?

It happens at first, but then you will get a rush and a high from the exercise. Keep it up though!
